New bladez

I wanted to work on some new techniques with lighting and thought I'de post my new pride and joy while doing so. I've already put many miles and these guys. If you are ever downtown around 11 or 12 at nite you may see me on the streets. It's sort of a way for me to get away and have some time alone to think. Too many days go by so fast without even giving me time to think so I've decided to change that... and I also get a work out too!

Talk about a rush...

Let me first say something about myself if you don't already know.
I am TERRIFIED of spiders.

Yesterday I went over to a friends house and he just got a tarantula. So... I went back today and brought my camera. Funny thing is that I wasn't near as scared of this hairy beast as I would have been by a wolf spider, but I was still in a state of shock. There's another thing you need to know about me. I love to do things that scare the crap outta me so I decided to take this photo shoot to another level. I had the tarantula put on my face. Still not sure how I looked so natural in that picture. Oh and I did not photoshop the tarantula in (you can see the shadows off it's legs...and no i wouldn't put that much time into making a fake picture to go so far as to put shadows in)

Ampeg 6x10 For Sale

I'm selling my Ampeg cab. It's been good to me, but just too much power for what I need these days. If anyone is interested or knows someone who might be interested let me know.

Air Cannon

I made a new toy... A few years back I made two spud guns which were powered by aerosol and a spark, but they weren't powerful enough for my taste. So... I made a new one! This "air cannon" is powered by pressurized air. The tank holds around 140 psi which is incredibly powerful. Once the tank is filled up I put a wad in it and place any item that I want to fire out of it. It shoots anything that fits in the barrel. rocks...spears...water...sand...flour...golf balls..you get the idea. Here's where it gets good! Last nite I was in my back yard and saw a duck fly into our pond. I filled up my gun will about 10-15 small rocks and shot it! Nathaniel was there with me to witness this glorious event. After we killed it we prepared it and ate it. hahaha!! but seriously.. pretty sure I scored a few man points for making a weapon that killed a duck and then for eating it afterwards.

Detasseling is finally over

We had our last day of detasseling and had our classic water fight, but this time it turned into more of a mud fight as you can see from the pictures. Also a few updates...

-A few days ago my aunt (who I talked about in the earlier blog) passed away. The cancer finally became too much and she is now with the Lord. Her funeral was yesterday and it was hard to see her go, but I am thankful to know that she had a relationship with Christ and is now with Him in Heaven. I appreciate the prayers from the many of you who kept asking me about how she was.

-I ordered a new computer and will hopefully have it by the end of next week. Hurray!!

-Detasseling is DONE! I can now return to normal civilization and resume hanging with my friends again. PTL!

Fortunate!

I consider myself fortunate today. I got home from detasseling and my computer apparently lit itself on fire through the electrical connection in the back. The area around the connection is all charred and there is a burn mark from a flame that melted the back of the screen. Pretty sure it won't work anymore... sweet. Buuut, through the suck I do thank God that it didn't burn down the house! It was a miracle that it was sitting on the coffee table that had a glass base to it so nothing caught on fire. I'm not sure what the status of my hard drive will be, but hopefully I haven't lost too many pictures! I do save them to an external hard drive every month, but the month of July might be history. I will be looking for a new computer within the next few days so there won't be any new pictures on my blog for a while. sorry...
